Albany, NY – On March 20, the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE) honored the American Institute of Architects New York State (AIANYS) and the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS) with the 2024 Association Excellence Award in Professional Development for their (Re)Connecting Communities Conference held in May of last year. This prestigious award recognizes the commitment to delivering a high-quality educational program that directly addressed the learning needs of members.

The collaborative initiative, held on May 9th at the Albany Capital Center, provided a perfect platform for professionals to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends, and cultivate partnerships aimed at creating resilient and vibrant communities. A celebration of the AIANYS Excelsior & Professional Service Awards and the AGC NYS Jeffrey J. Zogg Build NY and Distinguished Service Awards celebration capped off the evening. Distributed at the conference, the “Walkable, Sustainable, Connected Communities” booklet, highlighting projects from each of the 13 New York State AIA chapters, was a valuable resource that contributed to the event’s success.
The ESSAE Association Excellence Award underscores the program’s design, demonstrating a deep understanding of the professional development requirements within the architectural and construction communities. By providing access to cutting-edge industry knowledge and celebrating exemplary achievements, AIANYS and AGC NYS created a dynamic and enriching experience for attendees.
This recognition highlights the organizations’ dedication to fostering collaboration and professional growth, and setting a lasting example for impactful professional development programs.
