Good work deserves the time to be presented well.
To provide additional time for firms completing their entries, the submission deadline for the 2026 AIANYS Design Awards has been extended to Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The strongest submissions aren’t rushed. They take time to review project information, refine the narrative, and select photography that tells the complete story of the design. Setting aside time now will help ensure your submission reflects the same level of care and attention that went into the project itself.
If you’re finalizing your project narrative, reviewing photography, or completing the last details of your submission, this extension provides an opportunity to submit your work with confidence.
The AIANYS Design Awards recognize projects that demonstrate thoughtful design, innovation, collaboration, and meaningful impact across New York State.
This year’s recognized projects will be celebrated during the first in-person AIANYS Design Awards Celebration since 2019, bringing the profession together once again to recognize exceptional work.
Projects recognized through the AIANYS Design Awards are also eligible for submission to the AIA Tri-State Design Awards, extending recognition throughout the region.
We encourage you to take advantage of this additional time and complete your submission.

Tri-State Opportunity

Submission Criteria
AIANYS Members | Projects may be located anywhere in the world. The submitting architect must be a licensed architect in New York State and an AIA New York State member.
Non-Members | Projects must be located within New York State. The submitting architect must be a licensed architect in New York State.

August 26–27, 2026 (tentative) | Jury deliberations
November 3, 2026 | Design Awards Reception & Presentation | Hyatt Regency Princeton | Princeton, NJ
Entry Fees
- AIA New York State Members | $280 per entry
- Non-Members | $405 per entry
Cancellation Policy
Entries may be cancelled by August 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., less a $50 administrative fee.
