Burton L. Roslyn, FAIA, Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to recognize Associate AIA members in New York State who have made significant contributions at an early stage in their careers to the profession and to encourage their pursuit of licensure. Scholarship recipients will receive a one-time reimbursement for the cost of passing each single division of the ARE.

The Scholarship is in recognition of Burton L. Roslyn, FAIA, who spent much of his career mentoring, and educating emerging architects. In his role as educator at New York Institute of Technology and as a Professional, he trained, mentored and educated his students, emerging professionals and peers all with the vision of elevating the Architect’s role in creating the built environment. As an active member of the American Institute of Architects, he served in many roles as an AIA New York State Director; Secretary; Vice President Government Affairs; and President of The American Institute of Architects New York State in 2009. He was a member of the AIA New York Chapter and served as a Director of the Chapter. He was elevated to the College of Fellows and elected to a three-year term as a member of the National Board of the Institute.

Who can apply?

  • Actively participating Associate AIA Member, in good standing, of an AIA New York State Chapter
  • NCARB Record holder in good standing. Applicant’s NCARB Record Number must be provided for verification purposes.
  • Passed one or more of the divisions of the ARE within the past year. Candidate’s most recent Authorization to Test form must be submitted as verification.
